Finished Projects

Here is a small sample of before/after photos for completed projects.

Master Bedroom Revival

This master bedroom was originally constructed with a non-standard closet door opening so no standard closet door would fit; the client had to use a curtain to hide the closet contents. Add dingy wall-to-wall carpeting and an overall lackluster feel to the mix, and attention was needed.

I reframed the closet door opening to a standard size, installed sliding closet doors, repainted the walls a clean white and the trim a glossy cream, and ripped out the old carpet. Then the concrete floor was tended to by filling in holes, scraping off debris, and cleaning. The client opted to paint the concrete a rich, velvety brown, which required a glossy topcoat to protect the paint and the floor.

House Painting with Crack Repair for Stucco Homes

Many people think you can’t (and shouldn’t) paint stucco homes, but this is not the case. While it’s true that you can’t use traditional exterior paint on stucco, there is a specialty coating that can be used, with a 10-year or more lifespan. The product has the added benefit of filling in fine cracks (I repair larger ones) and acting as a buffer against future cracking. (I can provide more information about the product in person.)

I start every paint job with a good power wash; paint will not stick to a dirty surface for long (nor will a new coat of stucco). After power washing and allowing the stucco to dry thoroughly, I repair the larger cracks. Through a trial-and-error process I developed a method for repairing cracks in stucco that makes the crack virtually disappear after painting.

After the prep work is finished and the crack repair has dried, then it’s time to paint your house! I’ll work with you to help you choose colors (I’ll paint a section of your house with the new color so you have a chance to sit with it for several days before deciding), and work won’t begin until you are comfortable with all color choices.

Custom Shade Screens

I make custom screens for your house by replacing traditional insect screen with 80% shade screening (which still keeps insects out of your home). The custom shade screens prevent over 75% of the sun’s heat and UV rays from entering your home, which keeps your home noticeably cooler in summer, and helps prevent your furniture and rugs from fading. And even though you can’t see inside your home, you can still see outside. Keep in mind that in winter, especially if you live in a passive solar home, you’ll need to consider removing and storing the screens.
